ClwydAlyn are delighted to announce that they have joined forces with their Carbon Partner, Auditel, to deliver on their strategic objective of reaching Net Zero.

ClwydAlyn was formed in 1978 as a non-charitable Registered Social Landlord. They now manage over 6,300 homes and employ around 750 people who work together to beat poverty. Their homes and services range from care and nursing care, supported housing, development, and repair and maintenance services in seven local authorities across north and mid Wales.

Tom Boome Head of Technical, Innovation and Climate explains:

“Our mission is ‘together to beat poverty’ – We want everyone in North Wales to have access to excellent quality housing, and we want to work with partners to address the causes and impacts of poverty.

“In turn helping to enrich our communities by giving support where it’s needed, whether that’s helping people getting back into work, combatting social isolation or support or providing access to nutritious food. Our Values are Hope, Trust and Kindness. We include these in all that we do.

“ClwydAlyn is committed to a net zero position and addressing climate change challenges in a sustainable and economic way. Both the Welsh and Central Governments have set a target to ensure all homes are Carbon Zero by 2050. However, our ambition is to drive this change sooner!

“We want to break new ground on confronting the environmental challenges that lie ahead and recognise that our business needs to change its behaviour to address the urgency of the climate crisis, requiring significant investment in capital, resources and time.

“The team are looking forward to working with Auditel, who are accredited carbon consultants, who will assist us in developing a sustainability and net zero strategy that will establish where we are at and create plans for ClwydAlyn moving forward; with the aim to improve the lives of the local communities we serve here in North and Mid Wales, tackling issues such as fuel poverty and the energy efficiency of our homes.

“We care about making a difference both socially and environmentally. We are looking forward to this exciting journey, which will allow us to address the social inequalities that currently exist in our society, as well playing our part in tackling climate change.”
