Local children officially mark start of works at new Anglesey development
Pupils at an Anglesey primary school recently marked the start of works on a £10.4m project, which will see the development of 54 homes in a popular village on Anglesey.
Children from Valley Community School visited the Valley Mill/Mart site in Valley last Friday (27 January), along with local members, Cllrs Ken Taylor and Gwilym O Jones, as well as staff from ClwydAlyn Housing Association and Williams Homes.
Head of Development and Growth at ClwydAlyn, Penelope Storr said:
“It was great to mark the start of works at Valley Mart with pupils from the local primary school.
“Community engagement is a vital part of all our developments, and we were happy to welcome some of Valley’s youngest residents to the site and lead on our ground-breaking ceremony.
“The Valley Mill/Mart Development will address a key need for affordable housing for those that live and work in the area as well as boost the local economy with employment opportunities, offering a lasting legacy for the island.”
Built to high energy efficiency standards, these homes will be built with a timber framed structure and high levels of insulation, providing efficient low carbon homes; ensuring the minimum amount of energy is needed to keep the homes warm, which could reduce energy costs, whilst providing a much greener and cleaner way of living.
Bala based construction firm, Williams Homes, will be delivering the construction work, utilising their extensive expertise in delivering energy efficient and carbon friendly homes using sustainable technologies.

Our next phase with the children will be to work with them and the community council to agree on a name for the site once it’s completed.”

This scheme is part of ClwydAlyn’s development programme to deliver further 1500 new homes in North Wales by 2025 at an investment of £250m bringing the total number of homes in management to over 7,500.
