Work is progressing well on the planning application for the redevelopment of Penrhos Polish Village.
In November last year, ClwydAlyn launched a Pre Application Consultation (PAC) in order to discuss plans to build new social housing at the Penrhos Polish Village in Pwllheli. The PAC seeks to gather views and evidence from the public, local businesses, and all interested parties to help ClwydAlyn shape the future of Penrhos Polish Village.
The Pre Application Consultation went well, and we acknowledged all of the comments we received and considered them for the planning application. The planning application to build the new homes is to be submitted by the end of March and this will be reviewed over a period of 6 weeks.
Work is provisionally scheduled to start on phase 1 in Spring 2022 with a proposed completion in Summer 2023. Phase 1 will consist of 44 properties and will be focused on the provision of accommodation for current residents.
The properties will consist of:
- 1 Bedroom Apartments – 25 Units
- 2 Bedroom Apartments – 5 Units
- 2 Bedroom Bungalow – 12 Units
- 4 Bedroom House – 2 Units
It was apparent from the Pre Application Consultation information events that a provision of care is really important to residents and local people. The aim of Penrhos Polish Village is to provide a spectrum of care. All partners, Gwynedd Council, Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board and ClwydAlyn are committed to exploring options to build a new care home on the site (subject to planning being agreed and funding secured) with a view to implementing an innovative new care model. This will constitute a later phase of the overall site redevelopment which is currently focused on the provision of accommodation for current residents.
We will keep you updated on our progress.
